PADI - DSAT TECHNICAL SCUBA DIVING CYPRUS

PADI TEC REC Diver and Professional Technical Instructor

PADI-DSAT Tec 40
The Tec 40 course introduces divers to limited decompression, using software or computers, for diving within recreational depth limits. The course is prerequisite to the Tec 45 and 50 level.

Price (2-3 days)

€350

Includes: Certification fees and Tec Deep Diver materials, double tanks ( if used ) and deco tanks, all air and enriched air fills and local trips.
If the diver doesn't have their own personal gear (fins, mask, wetsuit, back plate, harness, appropriate BCD, regulators, etc) normal equipment rental charges apply.

The diver will learn how to make limited decompression dives to 40m/130ft using a single stage cylinder of decompression gas. Double tanks ( or side mounted ) are encouraged but not required on this course, although the full standardized technical diving rig will be discussed.
Decompression is limited to a maximum of ten minutes on this course with a single decompression gas up to 50% oxygen being used to add conservatism only.
Skills are introduced and developed to allow handling of reasonably foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of diving.
The course consists of one confined water dive, three training dives, three knowledge development sessions and three practical applications.

Prerequisites

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
• PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent
• PADI Deep Diver or at least ten logged dives to 30m/100ft
• A minimum of 30 logged dives, of which at least 10 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, deeper than 18 meters.
Certification
To be certified as a Tec 40 Diver, the student must successfully meet all the performance requirements for the Knowledge Development and Practical Application sessions and the four dives involved.
PADI-DSAT Tec 45
This course builds on the Tec 40 level by training divers to make dives to maximum depths of 45m/150ft on air or nitrox. For decompression, any mix up to 100% oxygen maybe used. The course is a prerequisite for the Tec 50 Diver level.

Price (2-3 days)

€400

Includes: Certification fees, use of double and deco tanks, back plate, harness, technical BCD, regulators, all air and enriched air fills and local trips.

The diver will learn how to make decompression dives to 45m/150ft using a single stage cylinder of decompression gas. Double tanks ( or side mounted ) are required on this course and the full standardized technical diving rig is employed. .
No limits to the amount of decompression are set on the course other than those dictated by gas management and student comfort, environmental factors. Skills are further developed to allow handling of reasonably foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of diving.
The course consists of one confined water dive, three training dives, three knowledge development sessions and three practical applications.

Prerequisites

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Tec 40 Certification or equivalent
• PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent
• First Aid and CPR within the past two years
• A minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least 12 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 12 dives were deeper than 18 meters and at least 6 dives were deeper than 30 meters.
Certification
To be certified as a Tec 45 Diver, the student must successfully meet all the performance requirements for the Knowledge Development and Practical Application sessions and the four dives involved.
PADI-DSAT Tec 50
The Tec 50 course completes the PADI Tec Rec DEEP entry level training and represents a high level of skill and competency, allowing the diver to make decompression dives using two decompression gases to maximum depths of 50m/165ft.

Price (2-3 days)

€400

Includes: Certification fees, use of double and deco tanks, back plate, harness, technical BCD, regulators, all air and enriched air fills and trips.
If the diver doesn't have their own personal gear (mask, fins, wetsuit etc. ) normal equipment rental charges apply.

The diver will build up to making actual decompression dives using two decompression gases, as deep as 50m/165ft. The final dive may be made on trimix although the certification intends the use of air/nitrox bottom gases.
Full standardized technical diving equipment is required, and procedures and skills are polished to the high level required to manage foreseeable problems and emergencies that could be encountered at this level of diving.
This course provides the foundation for further training in specialized technical diving like deep trimix, technical cave and wreck diving.
The course consists of one confined water dive, three training dives ( one simulated, two actual decompression dives), two knowledge development sessions and three practical applications.

Prerequisites

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Tec 45 certification or equivalent
• PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR within the past two years
• A minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 20
Certification
To be certified as a Tec 50 Diver, the student must successfully meet all the performance requirements for the Knowledge Development and Practical Application sessions and the four dives involved.

PADI-DSAT Gas Blender Course
The course is designed to provide information on the safe handling of oxygen, and the preparation of both Enriched Air and of Trimix for diving purposes. It gives an insight into oxygen cleaning and inspection procedures, production of oxygen compatible air, the various blending methods and systems a blender may come into contact with, and hands on blending experience.

Price (2 days or €300 for full Trimix Blender)

€190

Includes: the DSAT Gas Blender Student Manual and the Mix Calculator CD-Rom blending software

Specifically, classroom work will cover the following topics:
• Properties of oxygen
• Suppliers and methods of obtaining oxygen
• Oxygen Service and cleaning protocols
• Inspection procedures
• Partial pressure blending system design
• Production of oxygen compatible air
• Air quality testing
• Blending methodologies - which one is for you?
• Production of helium based mixtures
•Use of software and longhand blending calculations
Practical work includes:
• Overview of a partial pressure blending system
• Oxygen cleaning and inspection workshop
• Blending of both Enriched Air and Trimix fills.

Certification
Certification is upon completion of the Gas Blender exam, and on mastering of blending techniques ie/ producing at least five blends to within an analyzed accuracy of 1% of the desired blend. Candidates must also demonstrate a mature and responsible attitude towards the handling of gases to the satisfaction of the instructor.

PADI-DSAT Tec 65 Trimix
The PADI Tec Trimix 65 course is intended to extend the depth range of technical divers already certified as a PADI Tec 50 diver or equivalent so they can plan and execute decompression dives beyond 50m/165 feet.  The course extends your depth range capabilities by training you to use trimix (a blend of helium, oxygen and nitrogen).
